FNN 2019 – Functional Neurosurgery and Neuromodulation to treat Refractory Spasticity

Dear colleagues,

Herewith we would like to invite you to Hannover on November 28, 2019, to exchange your knowledge in the field of neuromodulation, with the main topic being focused on spastic movement disorders. Colleagues from all over accepted our invitation and we are grateful for their contributions.

All those who actively use neuromodulation tend to underestimate spastic movement disorders, unless botulinum and intrathecal baclofen therapy are the focus of attention. It’s to our impression that beside chronic pain and central movement disorders the neuromodulatory techniques are not developed with the same courtesy.

In recent years, new experimental and clinical approaches have emerged. Therefore, taking into account neuromodulatory procedures, we would like to call for a scientific discussion and in doing so, address all those who wish to find new options over the known standards.

Therefore we hope that not only experts from the field of neurological sciences but also pediatrics, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists will join our meeting and will contribute to a step forward these life threatening diseases. We express our warm welcome, join us and discuss with us and let us look for scientific proven pragmatic approaches.

We are indebted to the German Society of Neuromodulation (DGNM) and the International Neuromodulation Society (INS) to organize this meeting under their auspices and the bsh medical communications to manage the organization.
